Can corporate social purpose statements affect employee perceptions of the CEO?
Dr Lianidou, Associate Professor at Richmond American University London, has published an article on the impact of corporate social purpose on employee perceptions about the CEO and the corporation in the Journal of Business Research.
The highlights of the study showed that corporate social purpose statements directly involving the interests of employees are likely to have a favourable effect on employee perceptions about the CEO and, at a lower significance threshold, the corporation.
The study also put a spotlight on the need for corporate social purpose initiative announcements to be followed by meaningful corporate action and practices.
